 1. Course Introduction 

This course is a core honors general course offered by Jianxing Honors College for honorary students. Scientists and academic masters from world-class universities will introduce the development status and trends of subject areas and analyze the global development trend of specific subject areas. It introduces the research methodskey technologies of the subject area and influential research institutions and research scholars in the subject area and helps students understand and grasp the global map of the subject area of interest.

 

At the same time, the course adopts case analysis and project simulation exercises to guide students to master the ideas and methods of scientific and technological innovation project topic selection, learn to write school-level, provincial-level and national-level undergraduate experimental innovation plan project plans. Students are able to master research reports, cases reports, academic papers and other research results writing methods, exercise them thinking methods commonly used in scientific innovation.

 

2. Course Objectives

(1).To obtain the most cutting-edge scientific research results and theoretical knowledge in the world, understand the global development trend, important research topics and centers of specific disciplines. To grasp the research methods and key technologies in the subject area of interest, enhance interest in specific scientific issues in the subject area and global academic research capabilities.

 

(2).To master the topic selection methods and precautions of scientific and technological innovation topics in the subject area and writing methods of provincial and national college students' innovative experimental plans. To develop the level of innovative thinking such as divergent thinking and logical reasoning in scientific research, to have the ability to demonstrate scientific and technological innovation projects for college students.

 

(3).To improve the dictation, reading, writing, communication and expression skills of academic research in English,  develop students' academic logical thinking and communication skills through dialogues and exchanges with professors from world-class universities.

 

(4).To enhance the interest and confidence in scientific and technological exploration, and cultivate the academic interest of science and technology to serve the country. Be able to compare and analyze the development trend of global disciplines, enhance the willingness to study in international famous universities and contribute to the development of global science and technology.


3. Course Content

The course content is divided into three modules: science and engineering, social sciences and public. Among them, there are 5 subject units in science and engineering module, 3 subject units in social science module and 4 subject units in public module. The specific content is shown in the following table. According to the subject direction and academic interest, students choose no less than 5 themes from the 8 courses in the first two modules and then study the 4 themes in the common module.
